I'm officially on holiday. There's this great old song Bob 'n I listened to 100 times. It's called 'C'est Le Temps Des Vacances', a 1963 well known local French song which translates as 'It's Time For The Holidays'.
We are in the beginning of August and one needs to come to Canada to understand what perfect weather is all about. Sure Canada is freezing in February but we can also have the best summers, and the summer of '07 was one of the best in awhile.
It was time to show Bob Forrest some of my favourite spots. I spent a lot of my childhood in this area and I know these rivers like the back of my hand. And at this time of the year, the water level starts to drop, so there's spots on the river that you have to get out of your boat in order to maneuver.
I brought Bob to this little remote beach, one of my favourite spots. He brought his camera and I consider these photos as our first photo shoot since our initial meeting. As I mentioned before - Bob 'n I met during a shoot, which was our 1st... then the love bug bite us, and Bob rarely picked up his camera... up until now. This was a break through for him since he was able to say 'ok - I am cool with sharing images of my loved one with others...'. Love can lead one to be jealous and possessive, and Bob could have easily declined taking photos, and he was free to do so, but I was really glad he was able to break through to the other side. And the result was some really classy shots of myself on this lonely romantic beach. |
